I've setup XMPP using Wildfire and it seems to be working OK. I've
installed Wildfire on the same server as Servers Alive and have to
following settings in Servers Alive:
XMPP Host: <salive server>
Port: 5233:
SSL mode: Automatic
Auth. Mech.: PLAIN
Username: serversalive
password: *****
Default recipient: {instant message team}
Default message: %p is %s (%e) (%a) (%r)

I've setup a user in Wildfire called serversalive. I've also setup
users in Wildfire that match the configuration within the People setup
in Servers Alive. For example, I've created a user in wildfire called
bhanson and have configured Servers Alive People with bhanson and have
enabled XMPP for bhanson and it sends XMPP to bhanson. I also created a
Team in Servers Alive called "instant message team" and bhanson is a
member of that team.

I originally wanted to have Servers Alive broadcast to a Wildfire
group, but the syntax used by Servers Alive to Wildfire doesn't allow
you to send an alert to a group.

I hope this helps. If you need further information or screen shots,
please send me a note.

Hi,

Is anyone using this at all, particularly with the Wildfire server?

I cannot work out which combination of settings to use, it seems more
complex than it needs to be as the clients just ask for server name,
port, logon name.
