We've seen that same issue (messages being split) here, when the text message
was sent to a cell phone, the cell service would cut messages into 120-ish
character length messages. Actual length depends on where the service finds a
space character so it doesn't split words.

So, by using the Regkey mentioned earlier, we cut down the text SA adds to the
ends of the messages, so all errors always fit the message length defined by
the cell service. Also, this cut our costs down, as we were charged by the
number of messages.

text messaging using SMTP?

and I suppose you get the 2 messages via text messaging? The mail is send by
SA as being 1 mail, if the mailmessaging converts that to 2 messages, then I
would suggest to check with them

So, there is a timing issue then, no? Strange, the first two checks (using
file count) have a roundtrip time of 30-40ms – whereas the 3rd check
– which we’ve always had issues with has a roundtrip time of 344ms.
Would it be best to change the timeout portion to something else?

Alerting type on this case was both – Email and Text Message using
alternative SMTP.

So the alert didn't fire because of the number of files, but because the check
did stop within the timeout you defined for the check.

alerting type: mail (smtp) or instant messaging (icq/msn/...) or ....

We have several alerts for a file check. When several files (10) are listed in
a folder, it should send us an alert. We’re getting numerous false
positives and I’m not sure why. What’s the best way to diagnose
something like this?

Additionally, when we get a text for this alert, it comes in two messages? It
appears that additional information (Woodstone …etc) is added to the
text. Here is what is supposed to be sent:

“%p is %s

The number of HCP files has exceeded 30!”

Any clues to what’s going on would be greatly appreciated.
