It might run, but it doesn't really work.

It'll start-up OK as a service, but because the tray icon doesn't appear 
there's no way to start/stop the checking, or add new checks, or 
modify/disable existing ones, or change the setup options.

It's a bit like saying a car works OK because the engine runs, but
ignoring the fact that the steering is broken!

And I know you think it's Microsoft's fault - I'm sure you're right too - 
but blame doesn't really help to get it working on this (and future) versions
of Windows.

If you do decide to make SA properly support Vista then I'm more
than willing to help with testing...
