As you can see on page 35 (or 39 depending on how you look at the page numbers)
of the PDF based documentation you'll that it's possible to define what HELO
command is send.

Create/edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting\Servers
Alive\SMTP\PrimaryHELO
        0 uses the name of the SMTP server (as defined in the setup) is
send
        1 uses the hostname of the SA system
        2 uses the domainname of the SA system (NO.DOMAIN.NAME is
domainname is unknown)
        3 uses hostname.domainname of the SA system
(hostname.NO.DOMAIN.NAME if domainname is unknown)
        4 uses the IP address of the SA system
        5 uses hostname.domainname (if the domainname is not known it
reverts to the IP) <- default
        <any_string>    uses this string
Same can be done for AlternateHELO

(The domainname is queried from the system itself NOT from the DNS)

As restart of SA is needed once a change has been made.

Subject: [SA-list] SMTP Request & Query... Wrong Hello being sent!

We need a fix or a patch or some other INFO to make 'Servers Alive v6.1.2204'
to work in our Disney Corporate email enviroment!

DNS Name... wdi-ipdog-01.wdi.disney.com using IP... 139.104.4.186

The Problem...

We need for SA to say HELLO using the fully qualified domain name, not the IP

The Error...

When the server connects, and says hello, it is sending its IP address:

Feb 28 20:47:29.249 imr1 SMTPsvr25c[9929-1180]: Connection accepted:
caller=wdi-ipdog-01.wdi.disney.com, address=139.104.4.186
Feb 28 20:47:29.249 imr1 SMTPsvr25c[9929-1180]: Connection refused:
caller=[139.104.4.186], address=139.104.4.186

When the server connects it should say hello with its fully qualified domain
name:

Feb 28 20:47:29.249 imr1 SMTPsvr25c[9929-1180]: Connection accepted:
caller=wdi-ipdog-01.wdi.disney.com, address=139.104.4.186
Feb 28 20:47:29.249 imr1 SMTPsvr25c[9929-1180]: Connection refused: caller=
wdi-ipdog-01.wdi.disney.com, address=139.104.4.186

Carpe diem!!!

  Cheers!
