If both alerts are using SMTP then it's normal that for both we will use the emailaddress that have for that person.
If you want to use 2 different emails, then you will indeed need to use 2 "profiles" for that same person. When I said PAGER alert I did mean real pager alert, not an SMTP alert that is convert to some kind of texting. dirk From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Barry George Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2010 7:16 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: RE: [SA-list] alerting Team People per host Ok maybe I’m misrepresenting this... When I say SMS it actually text to SMS. So we would sent a text message to the person phone using a email address formatted with the users phone number 1234567890@<the ISP’s SMS domain name>.com So it’s not using Alpha paging/SMS as per in the setup under Alerts. But I’m not sure if that what you meant by PAGER alert? If you add a PAGER alert then we will use the pager number. dirk From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Barry George Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2010 5:01 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] alerting Team People per host Currently there is no way to configure on a per host basis to have different alerting methods selected as a per host basis is there? Eg. Person A has email and SMS phone number enabled in their profile. On one host check this person want’s email alerting only but both on other host check. I assume the other way to do this is to make a two people profiles on with email and the other with SMS and mix and match these to suit?
