I have had a server start having issues with ping checks. I have found that it
is not a Servers Alive related issue but was hoping someone might have an idea.
Response times on the checks are good i.e. <50 MS over a WAN link. However
each ping takes a second sometime up to 5 to actual show the result in my
command window.

This is a teamed NIC using an HP switch trunk. I have disabled/ unplugged each
port individually but have not removed the trunking yet. The problem seems to
only affect pings and I am not dropping any frames.

All firewalls are disabled since this is a server machine and protected by
network level firewalls. Some of the pings that are exhibiting this behavior
do not traverse the firewalls.

Anyone have any thoughts. I am sure that I am being dense and missing
something obvious.
