Can you check if the firewall of Win2008 is accepting netbios calls?
Dirk Bulinckx. Network Monitoring by Servers Alive - http://www.woodstone.nu DNS Hosting with ipv4 and ipv6 on http://www.stellardns.com From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Webber, Ev Sent: Friday, March 02, 2012 4:31 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] NT service check We have one of our Windows 2008 R2 servers that just recently began rejecting NT service checking with an error message that says, “Error getting the service information from <IP Address> (1722- 0-) The RPC server is unavailable.” We think it has something to do with removing the Symantec antivirus client which have been controlling the firewall but we are not sure about that. Does anyone have any insight into this issue? Ev EVERETTE R. WEBBER, MSM DIRECTOR OF SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION, UNIVERSITY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY 4201 S. WASHINGTON ST.
