We have most checks set to email when 2 times down and when back up too. We
have run into several instances where we never received the up email.
I’ve determined that this is due to either the check or a parent check
entering into a scheduled don’t check window. Is there anything that can
be done to fix this problem?

A detailed example:

Checks:

Site Router

    Server

        Database

            Service relying on database

At 9 PM a check on a process that requires the database to be up fails due to
some reason other than the database. Around 9:30 PM, we receive an email
indicating the service is down. At 10 PM, the database is shutdown for backup
(in this particular situation, we changed to online backups a couple years ago,
but forgot to update the check). Servers Alive has the database check set to
not check between 10 PM and midnight. Sometime during the don’t check
window, the service starts working again. No email is sent. The don’t
check window ends, and the service shows as up. No email is sent.
