FWIW, we have been using LibreNMS (Observium-fork) (http://www.librenms.org
(http://www.librenms.org)) for handling syslog and trend-view graphing for
about a year now without any issues. For us, SA is still simpler for handling
email notifications for a myriad of working groups for up/down notifications
while LibreNMS just sends emails for more core applications (one single email).

Every product category has it’s pros and cons and getting the right mix for
your org is what’s really important.

I love kiwisyslog! However Solarwinds bought it! The free edition only accepts
5 devices. :(

Hi,

I did think about this a couple of years ago, but decided that there are other
products that are better suited for this. Also to be 100% honest :-) I was at
that time a lot in contact with Andrew (from Kiwisyslog) and didn't want to
compete with his great product.

Syslog Server? I know SA can send syslog messages to a server, but what about
accepting them? Probably have to be stored in a separate database. Make alerts
based on the syslog messages?

Can anyone else use this?
