FWIW, we have been using LibreNMS (Observium-fork) (http://www.librenms.org (http://www.librenms.org)) for handling syslog and trend-view graphing for about a year now without any issues. For us, SA is still simpler for handling email notifications for a myriad of working groups for up/down notifications while LibreNMS just sends emails for more core applications (one single email).
