Does the failure say timed out? For me that usually indicates the file is huge and is taking too long to read accurately. Therefore, I archive it every so many days, etc. Also, could it be a permission issue for the service checking? Maybe something changed on that end.

Are checking a specific file or does the check needs to "select" the file via some wildcards? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Servers Alive Discussion List [mailto:salive@woodstone.nu (mailto:salive@woodstone.nu)] On Behalf Of Richard Sleegers Sent: Friday, August 19, 2016 4:10 PM To: Servers Alive Discussion List Subject: [SA-list] COM check timeout - FileProperties I have several FileProperties external COM checks that were working fine for months until a few weeks ago. Now they are timing out even if I increase the Timeout value upwards from 5 seconds. I usually check the last write date of oldest matching file. Some details and things Ive tried: - Rebooted server - Changed network checks to local, authentication is blank (local file) - Split out 15 checks to different start times out of 12 cycles - Upgraded to 2.0 build 60 - Older Salive 7.2.2638 - Older Windows 2003 SP2 - Running as service - Server load is low, but does peak to 100% during check cycle - When running Check Entry now it is always correct ------------------------------------------ Richard To unsubscribe send a message with UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line to salive@woodstone.nu (mailto:salive@woodstone.nu) If you use auto-responders (like out-of-the-office messages), make sure that they are not sent to the list nor to individual members.
