It's a little vague at the moment - but it looks like there is going to be a 9th doctor on the new series (he's going to run out of regenerations soon! although he's still possibly got to be Merlin or the Valeyard!) ... and yes, there is a new series underway - for next year sometime.
I think the 8th Doctor may make an appearance in a new movie that is apparently being worked on.
