For any Mac users out there, I've added an OS X version of SimCoup to the beta download page: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.owen/sam/simcoupe/
The new version fixes the strange slow-down problem that was holding back a release, and makes numerous other improvements. With the exception of the missing New Disk dialogue, it should be about ready to release (unless YOU can prove otherwise!). So far I've only tested it on Panther (10.3), but there's no real reason why it shouldn't work on earlier versions too. It should also run well on . The disk image download contains everything you need to get started, including a few sample disk images. It'll be a few hours before all the changes are visible on the public CVS, as I've only just checked the files in. A couple of notes on this version: - You can switch to fullscreen mode (with F8), but an SDL bug prevents the display being visible until you move the mouse. - Expos in Panther uses keys F9-F11, which mask the SimCoup keys (the important one being F10 for Options). You'll need to either re-map the Expos keys or use Apple-F10 instead of F10, etc. For the latter choice, you may also want to disable the Apple as Edit function in the Input options (you can still use the +/- key in the top left for it). Special thanks to Andrew Collier, Allan Skillman and Gavin Smith, for answering my endless Mac-newbie questions and providing all-important feedback. The OS X experience has also impressed me enough to be looking for a Mac of my own :-) Si
