Certainly an interesting email that, presumably sent to you personally due to the Defender page on your site? I would have to question the exact products and rights 'owned' by Persona in this case, as quite a few titles were just distributed by them... such as David Ledbury's old publications - Sam Prime etc, and the game Manic Miner which David personally owned the rights to (given to him directly by the author Matthew Holt) which was why David was able to kindly let me use Manic Miner on the coverdisk for Sam Revival issue 9. After so much time, and no contact, I would assume that any given rights to distribute titles would also have been returned to the original coders if the products had not been bought outright. I know in my own case for the work I did to the Persona releases of "Bowen and Count Dracula" and "Colony" when putting in the extra sound support for the Quazar Surround soundcard I made it clear I retained full ownership to the code I put in, and despite copies of both of those games selling I never received the royalties I was due. On that note, from talking to other old Sam coders recently (mainly for the interviews that have appeared in Sam Revival), it is quite surprising the number of Sam authors who never received their due royalties, or had to put up a big fight to obtain them (from a variety of publishers), which would surely put into question the rights of the publisher to the product.
