on your Sam? This is the ROM version number, multiplied by 10. For example, my Sam, and Ian's Sam, have versions 3.0 and 3.5 (though I can't remember which way round, and I'm not in a position to check at the moment).
The reason I ask is that MNEMOcompress, which was was on Fred 68, calls a few ROM routines which weren't specified in the documentation[1], and therefore might not necessarily have been exactly the same in different ROM revisions. Indeed, I made it print a big notice on the screen when you run it under a ROM version I hadn't had the opportunity to test. This, as it now turns out, includes the ROM in SimCoupe because Allan's Sam has version 3.1 in it. No one has ever written to me about this...
