On issue 39 of Fred magazine (which is up on NVG) you will find a program called 'Shredder' which I wrote way back in 1993 or 1994 (Can't remember exactly when, it was a long time ago!). This will permentantly erase files, and all the sectors used by them. But it will only work on normal SAMDOS style formatted disks with 80 file slots in the directory table.
