Wow, that's even more stupid that I realised. I had assumed, at the very least, they had made it work on one palette entry at a time. How did a device like that make it into production? Did the designer - or the people at SamCo, who marketed it and put a write-up in the NewsDisk at the time - ever actually believe that anyone would be able to make use of it?
