If you do make sure that the firmware version is not higher than 2.60 - Sony have been doing everything in their power to block the exploits that allow running of homebrew on the psp. With version 2.60 a hole in the GTA Liberty City Stories load game routine is used to get 'other stuff' running... This has been patched in 2.70.
