] Okay... point taken...

:)

] Alright then, I'll get Martin to work on it. There will be three versions:
] One with just the boot ROM and one with DMA -- the DMA one will be
] cheaper...

Do you mean that? Or t'other way round?

] *sighs*... hassles eh? ;) Some people just ain't happy :)

Mmmmmmm.... I'd be happy if I could have a DMA that was programmable
(the standard z8040 or whatever it's called would be nice, but the ZILOG
version, not the SGS Thompson crap, which misses out on the nicest mode !)
so that I could get it to do _just_ what I wanted...

] *grins*, but it'd cost over 100 quid!!!!!!!!!

But most people would want both... if you want to speed up your sam, the
best way to do it is with a processor upgrade. And if you speed up the
processor, you're not going to want to sit around waiting while you change
disks all the while, are you.... :)

] ps Geoff.. you sound... well, disheartened ... gotta remember, we've only
] had it up and running for 3 days...

Mmmmmm.... I'm disheartened. It's the way we were told to write the music
for Stryker's Run 3 on the Arch (remember Strykers Run and Droid on the Beeb?)
by last friday so we spent most of last week writing it and then they came
back and said `oh actually we don't need it til about Christmas'....

Watch out for that game, btw, it's got some truly amazing 3-channel music
on it.

As to being disheartened about the Sam... I am. I still haven't
connected it up since I got back from Holidays, and that was 4 weeks ago
it's just sitting in my room...

I really am just waiting til your little upgrade board comes out - I can't
stand programming on a machine that feels like it needs a good kick up
the arse.

Did you say colin was working on a sound card? Hope it's got more than
4 channels... :)
