Right.. you were saying that it was a stupid design if the upper and lower bytes of each word were read from different ports -- or at least that's what I thought you meant... I was explaining how it was easier -- you won't *ALWAYS* be reading/writing 512 bytes -- and there's no way in hell you could get us to put another port on the board *specifically* for instances where you would, as well as the other two... Besides, this is all moot -- the design is still in martin's hands... Si
