That's sicko as it's the membranes that gets weared. Did they not 
learn anything from the spectrum? Well, I now got it working again
by

1) Scrubbing of that green stuff on the top of the lead
2) Patch the broke point with aluminum-foil from a chewing-gum pack.
3) Applying pressure both from the top and the bottom of the patch
4) Manteling it all together again. Voila!
