I doubt an NTSC tv could display a PAL picture adequately... some PAL tvs will show an NTSC picture - the line freq. is the same (I think)- it's just the vertical frequency that matters. A Pal tv showing NTSC just stops after line 262 and jumps back to the top of the screen, but an NTSC tv showing PAL would have hassles - the PAL signal has 312 line so the tv would run out of vertical space after line 262.
