Well, the PC spectrum emulator will run on a 8086 or higher but the PC C64 emulator suggests 386 at minimum, so the chances of the SAM emulating the C64 at reasonable cost are slim to say the least! Which takes me back about two weeks when someone suggested that the PC wasn't powerful enough to emulate the SAM - well, if it can emulate a C64 with its complicated screen modes and SID chip then it can certainly emulate the SAM.
