I'm not keen on name badges, but I'd recommend them for any meeting such as a SAM one. Even though you may have written to, e-mailed or phoned someone, you may not have a clue what they may look like. You may simply miss meeting someone if badges aren't worn. Imagine being told the next day that Clive Sinclair had been at a SAM fair, with a hair transplant, and you'd missed the chance to talk with him.
There again, someone might accidentally talk to Bob Brenchley without knowing who he was (JOKE! - Any chance of a ceasefire for a planned get-together?) Phil Glover.
