Aley, > As you know, some time ago I asked if someone is interested in making > Win32 version of SimCoupe. NOBODY ANSWERED ME YES!
When was this? If it was in the last 15 months then I won't have seen it as I've not been on the Sam mailing list. I started working on my Win32 port about a week or so ago, and at the time I hadn't seen any interest in anyone else doing one, so I started one myself. I've since read that Simon Cooke is also interested in it - is there anyone else? > Now I've got some mails from people saying that they have some > problems in their own Win32 ports of SimCoupe. > > I can't help you until you won't cooperate with me (or other people). > If somebody thinks he can work on his own and I will help him solving > some problems, he is WRONG! > > If somebody want me to help work on his Win32 version of SimCoupe, I > can do, but I want to cooperate on it more than only answering your > questions. Clear? Whoa there! Was the e-mail from me by any chance? If so, I think you have the wrong end of the stick... I *did* e-mail you asking about the state of play with bug fixing in SimCoupe, but I certainly wasn't asking for help in tracking down any known bugs. You're the only person that seems to be actively working on the existing sources, so I was only asking whether you *were* fixing bugs or just adding sound to it. Did you misunderstand my e-mail or are you talking about a completely different e-mail? I'd be more than happy to work together with any others that are also interested in a Win32 port. Except for the new keyboard and video handling the rest of it is still the same (well, except for missing features that have yet to be added back in). With the changes necessary to give it a real Windows front-end I can't see it being easy to keep the sources combined with the DOS/Unix versions. It was really this that made me ask the question, as any fixes to original sources may have to be applied separately. Simon Cooke's HPEN fix was only sent to the mailing list (FAO Allan) so it didn't seem like there was an official way of announcing fixes - is thar right? I expect the Mac port is frozen at its original release and so hasn't needed any changes. Best regards, Si
