Mode-X on Sam? I haven't heard this.
On PC, Mode-X shouldn't be used anymore, since
1.) it is extremely slow
2.) it is low resolution only
3.) you can't use accelerators
4.) Windows doesn't support all x-modes
5.) As you showed, it is extremely complicated to use mode-x.
SVGA is faster in hires than mode-x in lowres!!!
