Yes, GamesMaster normally expects to load its sprites in the top half of memory; your 256K machine doesn't have those pages, and so all the sprites are blank. SimCoupe always emulates a 512K machine, so the memory always works there. It's a long time since I fiddled with GamesMaster much, but I'm fairly sure that if you have the GamesMaster editor program, you can run in 256k "mode" and resave the games - always assuming that 256K is actually enough memory to store everything - then they'll owrk on a 256K Sam.
