But I'm glad I did bother learning - the z80 is a lot easier to build hardware for than the 6502, and you can pick up z80s for about a quid. I don't think the speed restrictions are that serious - the excellent games on Sam (eg Prince of Persia) are proof. And you could always turn the screen off to get full speed. Andy
