Whoa!

Didn't realise there were so many active SAM users still!

Sorry I didn't get back to you all over the weekend but I'm only on this
mailing list from work at the moment as I haven't had time to set it up at
home yet.

Anyway, onto the stuff:

David: Are you still selling exodus? are people still interested? that'd be
cool!

My idea (and I'm not too sure this came across at all in my first posting)
was to make all our old SAM stuff completely freeware - the only limits to
this are "parallax" (erm - but maybe not, I need to check, I think after 5
years I get the copyright back...? ill work on this one) and "boing!" (which
I don't even know who owns any more !)

The only thing I want to see happen for this to take effect is for me to get
a copy of them all so I can put them together on a single website somewhere
and get that onto the web ring for everyone to have access to.

So, Cheers all those that offered to send me stuff in whatever format works
:P - I have no idea about how this all works at the moment, so anything you
guys can provide will be nice :)

and if anyone owns the rights to SAM stuff we did (or like David, we told
you that you could take charge of them) and you don't want us to give 'em
away let us know - otherwise send us as much stuff as you have !!!

finally - I don't remember slagging the SAM off as such - although I do
remember saying I realised I could never make a living off programming for
it, hence my move to more mainstream commercial stuff... I think the quote
was taken out of context by certain individuals (i.e. mainly the guy writing
the article) and people tend to believe what they read... but I'm forever
grateful to the SAM - it taught me you can do miraculous things with tight,
fast code - and that has stood me in great stead ever since - id never have
got into writing games for a living if it weren't for the SAM Coupe!

And, Now I want to give something back :)
