You'll need a disk with SAMDOS on it before any of the commands will work. There might be one up on NVG, or perhaps a copy of QDOS or similar (don't know, college firewall prevents me accessing the site). Failing that, someone on this list should be able to sort you out. Once you've got the DOS disk, insert it and type BOOT, or just press F9. Save, Load and Verify should work just as they do on the spectrum (i.e. Load "filename" etc). To get a listing, DIR 1 will list the contents of drive 1. I *think* (can't remember!) that the command to format is FORMAT D1 HTH Dave
