well, i'm fine with that, thats why i asked!, i'm sure an awful lot out
there isn't being activley sold, or any profit being gained from,
those mainly are the discs i want to catalogue. I have every issue of FRED
and SamSupplement here (99% original discs, too i'd say), only about 75% of
them are readable, what if no-one else has those missing discs, the medias
lifetime is limited, i'm sure that getting them stored on a PC is a good
idea.

as for any software out there that any author doesnt want to be 'released',
please let me know what the software is,
i still want to include that software in the database (as an 'unreleased
dump') so people know it exists, ready for the time when the author feels it
is time to release the work into the public domain. this I think would be
the best way to do things, as it would keep the database as complete as
possible.

in the meantime, i'll continue cataloging the discs, once my database is
ready, i'll make available for everyone a list (not the dumps themselves) so
that they can let me know what software dumps to exclude. I'm sure you lot
will know most of the authors, and i'm sure that the list will filter down
to them, if you know any authors email addresses, i'd be grateful if you can
forward them to me

as of yet, i have made no efforts to contact specific authors, I thought it
would be in everyones best interests to post my ideas here first, and not
just rename, dump the roms and release them (i'm sure, annoying many people
in the process), as seems to be happening with a lot of other console
systems out there (unfortunatley even more up to date ones also :¬(
