I think you've misunderstood me Andrew - so let me spell it out.

I am a gamer. I have been playing games for roughly 20 years, across many different formats. It's a hobby, something I love. I have many great memories of games from the past. Which is why I find the whole emulation scene fantastic. I can download and play games I was playing twenty years ago for nothing. It's great to be able to play Jetpac again for example, and 3d deathchase. They were great days.

So when I stumbled on the excellent SIM Coupe, I was delighted. I thought the SAM scene as dead as the computer, but I was wrong. Thanks to people like Simon Owen, Chris Pile, Colin Piggott (who seems to think I've got something against him for selling software) and others it's still alive. So I downloaded two of my favourite games, Lemmings, and Prince of Persia straight away. And it was great to be able to play them again without rummaging through the attic.

There was just one snag - where were all the other games? So I posted this question to this list, and I discovered they were owned by Persona. What games I wondered (and asked 3 times)? Well I don't exactly know.

Now to cut a long story short, I AM A GAMER. I'm not a programmer. That is all way over my head, as I've admitted before on previous posts. So when I asked was F16 Combat Pilot owned by Persona, I learned it wasn't. And I was asked could I upload it to the FTP site. So I then posted a link to a site where you could download the original demo in TZX format - and I asked for help to get it up and running.

Never once have I been sarcastic to those who are trying to do me a favour. I'm stumped, I haven't a clue, and I would dearly love to play it again. Do you honestly think I'd be sarcastic to any person(s) who could help me in that? Indeed, if you look at a previous post to Dan I specifically pointed out that if I could help with anything I would, even though I'm not the most knowledgeable on these matters.

All I was getting at was the idea of selling something which belonged to someone else to a company that I believe is doing the same thing! It was meant to be a light hearted poke at the irony of such a thing....but obviously this has been miscontrued. Any offense which I have unwittingly caused I regret.

All I want is to be able to download SAM games the way I can with just about every other computer format you can mention. There are at least two others on this list that want the same thing - what is so wrong with it?

You're asking people to do you favours, so perhaps you should be a bit more
polite about it. No offense, but you obviously have no idea what the issues
are, or ever were.

Most of my own programs are available for download (see .sig), with a couple
of exceptions which are way beyond my control.
