well, it acts as a kind of database for sam roms,
its a little limited at the moment, but if you look at goodgen or goodnes
then you'll get the idea
basically in teh bad old days, you could dowload roms, but have no way of
knowing if they're a good dump, or a japanese rom, etc, so your SONIC.zip
rom could have been sonic thr hedgehog japanese bad dump not working, or
sonicblasters french,
the good utilities scan each file for a unique signature and remames the
rom
with with a confirmed name
this makes it easier to collect roms as you know the names, and it makes it
easier to catalog roms into an Uba-database, where every game dumped ever
is
known and catalogued!
