Thanks to the talents of Simon Owen, there is now a full SID music player for
use with the SID Interface.

Simon's SID player code emulates the 6510 CPU from the Commodore 64 and allows
the Sam to run in realtime C64 code to play music using the SID soundchip. It's
only taken Simon 11 days to write the emulator from scratch which a remarkable
achievement, and the player can cope with the vast majority of SID tunes and
code that we have tested using it.

Simon has kindly allowed his SID Player code to be used on a new music disk to
accompany the SID Interface, and this will be sent out to existing SID Interface
owners in around a weeks time once I have written a frontend to go with it and
sorted out a selection of music for the disk. Over 20,000 C64 'SID' tunes are
available for download at the 'High Voltage SID Collection' at
http://hvsc.c64.org

Issue 4 of Sam Revival features my article 'SID on SAM', which gives a good
insight into the workings and capabilities of the SID chip from the C64, and a
brief mention of 'SID' music files, and Simon is working on writing an article
explaining his design and (rather fast!) development of his SID Player for a
future article for Sam Revival.
