theres loads of stuff mostly bbc related
he has a screenshot of bbc basic running on spectrum
was sam basic pretty much on the bbc basic nose so to speak
the darn thing only runs in external rom interface though i though the
tap file would run in ram or figure out how to use +2ab3 paging to be
in lower ram like a rom but dont hink it works like that
must certainly make a mockery of all the bbc video modes
teletext anyone?
also only seems to think she had 8 colours so hasnt found out about
bright mebbe? judging by the screen shot
master basic seemed faster printing text onscren does it use ld hl?
does that mean hl is altered eight times for each character printed?
tried to exdamine rom disasembly but rst is a bit confusing
rst puts pc on sp? if pc happened to correspond to the bit pattern of
font or graphics sam could page all 512 into bottom ram area but the
write protect doesnt stop asic from waiting when video screen$ being
displayed unless border port and mode 3/4 switched to off? rom still
doesnt use refresh?
so lddr looses 1 tstate per byte copied from 21 to 20 tstates per byte
still larger than the 300k odd for push couldnt put push routine in
rom impossible as needs ld sp to be altered for each different
location ocpied from too? unless standard sizes were offered for text
characters proprtioanl fonts or graphics standard sprite sizes or
background tile system available
no alterations to asic possible?
zx81 turbo mode simialr to screen off in mode 3/4 but 81 was text
character only printing this is slower than speccy ula? less versatile
cannot print a user defined proportional font how did they add hi rez?
zub prints bright off grey text on bright white background something
funny going on there then?
