The problem I mentioned about not running in X was using OpenGL SE, where there didn't seem to be Broadcom driver support for it (yet?). GL SE support still only exists in a private branch at the moment, waiting on SDL 2.0 to be finalised, and Pi support to be improved generally. I did whether it was worth the effort for a Pi-specific version of the video code, but if I can get it for free through SDL I'll get to spend that time elsewhere! > SimCoupe makes the Pi's CPU to work a lot (70%-90%) but the maximum > SAM's speed is good enough (200%-250%). I'm hoping that the switch to GL SE will give a bit more time back to increase that, as well as 50Hz hard-synced video for smooth scrolling. > My Pi has 256 MiB; I've ordered a 512 MiB one because 256 is not enough > for some working sessions I've got a 512MB model for development, but SimCoupe will always be fine on the 256MB version. I'll probably create a stripped-down version that boots directly into SimCoupe, with less other junk loaded on startup -- similar to Allan's Linux root and boot disks back in 1996 :) Si
