ASCD 1.7 has been published today. Three years after the previous version. This version mainly brings: * Unicode - the whole program has been converted to Unicode (2-byte characters), this allows to use non-English filenames in English Windows * I used Claude AI to find bugs in the code, and I fixed them
The full changelog: * All text is now Unicode, emulator is now compatible only with Windows 2000 or later * Zlib compression library updated to version 1.3 * Fixed a small bug in HDD emulation - seek error during write could be swallowed * Fixed SamSnap not saving SAA port values correctly * Fixed a bug in AY8910 envelopes * Fixed possible crashes and memory corruption when loading malformed or truncated .z80 snapshots * Fixed mouse state not being restored when loading a Sam snapshot * Fixed a possible crash when opening a corrupted or oversized disk image * Fixed graphics corruption in 24-bit color video mode * Fixed garbled text shown in error message popups * Fixed a possible buffer overflow when recording sound to an AVI file with a compressor * AIR playback: fixed locating the recorded game file and reading custom data saved by other versions * Fixed a memory leak when opening HDF images and a handle leak in the Recent Files menu * Fixed a possible crash when opening files with very short names * Fixed a use-after-free during keyboard/mouse re-initialization * Fixed handling of empty or corrupted tape files and of switching tapes during loading * Fixed an out-of-bounds read when loading a corrupted Sam snapshot (mouse data) * AIR playback: fixed uninitialised keyboard bits and reading of truncated AIR files * Fixed a possible crash caused by a malformed command-line argument Note: A new version of the sister emulator Alyx will be published too. (Not yet ready, I am working on a small improvement.)
