Hi, we've build samba RPMs from the 2_2 CVS tree. The packages are available for SuSE Linux 7.2, 7.3 and 8.0. You'll find them at
ftp://ftp.SuSE.com/pub/people/lmuelle/i386/ in the corresponding subdirectories. Users from Europe, in particular German universities, please use our primary mirror at ftp://ftp.GwDG.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/people/lmuelle/i386/ The source RPM for all SuSE Linux versions is in the src subdirectory. This version is compiled with an appropriate include/version.h to allow people to check which CVS date is the base by calling /usr/sbin/smbd -V Be carefull with starting samba while booting your system, cause the start script asks you for a explicit confirmation about using a CVS snapshot version. This might lead to a hanging boot process.
