The packages are build for classic and LDAP authentication. Which type you use is configured by the setting of SAMBA_SAM in /etc/rc.config for SuSE Linux 7.2 and 7.3 or in /etc/sysconfig/samba from SuSE Linux 8.0 and later versions. See section Classic or LDAP Security Authentication Mechanism of /usr/share/doc/packages/samba/README.SuSE for details. This version includes our try to improve the MS Windows ACL to Linux POSIX-draft ACL mapping. All version are build with ACL support. The Linux kernels of SuSE Linux 8.1 is ready for Linux ACL as known from http://acl.bestbits.at/ Feedback is highly welcome.
