You need to check in your RPM build directory (find it with 'rpm --eval
"%_builddir"'), in the samba directory, in the source subdirectory (thus,
probably /usr/src/Redhat/samba-2.2.7/source) for a file named config.log,
which will have more detail about the failures that resulted in the rpm
not building successfully.

Chances are there will be additional packages you need to install, such as
if there is a failure looking for a header file (say ldap.h), yuo need to
install the corresponding development rpm. Then, try again.

This kind of questionmay receive more attention on the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
mailing list instead of this list (unless someone here has ldap-enabled
binaries for RH 8.0).

Also, be aware that yu omay want to try samba-2.2.7a, which has fixed a
bug with large file support in smbd.

Buchan
