There's a field in the SESSION SETUP ANDX called PrimaryDomain. My *guess* is that this is used in trust relationships, as in:
...if the client belongs to domain FOO and it's trying to log onto a server in domain BAR, it sends FOO in PrimaryDomain, the server passes the request to the DC for BAR, the DC looks for a trust relationship with domain FOO and passes the request along again.
