Hi Samba team, as 2.2.8 seems to approach now, have the following patches been considered for it? They both don't add functionality, but rather improve robustness, and are platform independent:
http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba-technical/2002-December/041413.html prevents winbindd from damaging its own idmap TDB on write failures (filesystem full), by rolling back partial changes done by the failed store of mapping. http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba-technical/2003-January/041897.html avoids the reconnect delay when DC pipes have died, thus avoids false negatives to be returned to clients, and to be cached. Not a 100%, however. If there is really no DC available at the time of query, it will still happen. But it's an improvement compared to having these false negatives always after a connection died. Cheers! Michael
