--- Reçu de RVIEXT.FEZAY 0472967075 28/01/03 11.07 Hello,
I am a new user of SAMBA for OpenVMS . I have installed (rebuild from source) the last version of Samba 2.2.7a on an Alphaserver 800 , running OpenVMS V7.2-1 and TCPIP services V5.0A and with the last ACRTL patch , as indicated by JYC. No problem to install SAMBA. So i try to access my disks from a PC running Windows 2000 pro with the very simple command : NET USE ........./user:......... I have a successfull connection and i can see all my VMS directories , display file (.txt, .lis) But i have a problem when i want to modify or create a file : - i create a txt file with Openvms editor (or i use an existing txt file) - i can see and display it from W2000 - i modify it from W2000 , it seams to be OK - i try to read it with Openvms editor or the TYPE command , THE FILE IS EMPTY . - the only way i found to recover my file is to type the following command : SET FILE TEST.LIS /ATTR=RFM:STM If i create a txt file fom W2000 , i have no problem with modifying it and reading it again ; Did somebody encounter this problem ? Thanks .
