Hi All,
I have noticed a major system slowdown since installing the 17-AUG-05 version of Samba. Prior to this version system performance was fine, but now CPU usage is frequently at 100% with the SMBD process, I also suspect that network traffic to/from the alpha is greatly increased because it is almost impossible to telnet into the machine. After we have shutdown Samba then CPU and network performance then returns to normal. I was wondering if the problem could be anything to do with the record lengths being changed from 1024 to 32769. Could this now mean that there is 30 times more traffic being used by Samba? Thanks.
