BTW your minimal smb.conf file is bad. The default for encrypt passwords
is still "no". If you run testparm on your file you will see an warning
message (at least with 2.2.4)

ERROR: in 'security=domain' mode the 'encrypt passwords' parameter must 
also be set to 'true'.
