Hello. I am a veteran Samba admin and have configured it many times over on Solaris and Linux.
But now I have been asked to configure it on Mac OS X. I am NOT using the out-of-the-box MAC OS X "Windows Sharing" garbage. I downloaded 2.2.3a and compiled it myself on OS X. Everything is working fine, except my /var/log/system.log is filling up with this: May 5 14:04:03 MacLand smbd[626]: Unable to initgroups. Error was Input/output error May 5 14:04:33 MacLand smbd[627]: [2002/05/05 14:04:33, 0] smbd/sec_ctx.c:initialise_groups(229) May 5 14:04:33 MacLand smbd[627]: Unable to initgroups. Error was Input/output error May 5 14:10:42 MacLand smbd[635]: [2002/05/05 14:10:42, 0] smbd/sec_ctx.c:initialise_groups(229) May 5 14:10:42 MacLand smbd[635]: Unable to initgroups. Error was Input/output error May 5 14:14:43 MacLand smbd[645]: [2002/05/05 14:14:43, 0] smbd/sec_ctx.c:initialise_groups(229) May 5 14:14:43 MacLand smbd[645]: Unable to initgroups. Error was Input/output error This is getting logged every few minutes. I'm 99% sure everything is set up fine and it appears to be working. Any thoughts on how serious this is?? Thanks!
