Hi, since samba 2.2.4 (I use the prebuilt Mandrake cooker RPMs) I got the following problem on authorizing or changing a password using 'smbpasswd'. Ever user is rejected, even if he uses the correct password and in my logs the following error messages appear:
------------------------- May 11 12:31:22 pc1 smbd[18130]: [2002/05/11 12:31:22, 0] passdb/pdb_ldap.c:ldap_connect_system(159) May 11 12:31:22 pc1 smbd[18130]: ldap_connect_system: Failed to retrieve password for from secrets.tdb May 11 12:31:22 pc1 smbd[18130]: [2002/05/11 12:31:22, 0] passdb/secrets.c:fetch_ldap_pw(242) May 11 12:31:22 pc1 smbd[18130]: fetch_ldap_pw: no ldap secret retrieved! ------------------------- I never used LDAP, though, and never intended to do so. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks and bye.
