Well, I've done some extra tests and I think that I've found the cause. I compiled the 2.2.4 source code on a RH 7.1 machine with XFS 1.1. Then I installed these created rpm's on a RH 7.1 machine with XFS 1.0.1 and it gave the problems which I described. Now I compiled the source code on the RH7.1 machine with XFS 1.0.1 and installed it and the problem did no longer occur. Of course, now I still have to find out whether samba-2.2.4 works on an machine with XFS 1.1.
