I'm running Samba 2.2.3a on Redhat 7.2. My problem is that after adding a new printer via cups and restarting the cups daemon, the printer doesn't appear for browsing on Windows clients.
Here are the printing parts of my smb.conf: printing = cups printcap name = lpstat I have tried sending smbd the -HUP to have it re-read the config file. This seems to work OK for introducing new shares into a server which is in use, but it doesn't work for printers. Newly added printers only appear after restarting samba, which is sub-optimal in a production environment. Any thoughts?
