Hello,

Can someone help me? I'm trying to make everyone have the same profile that they can't
change. I'm using 98 clients.

I know I need to use mandatory profiles, but what I'm trying to do is have one folder
with the profile that everyone accesses. To do this I did the following.

1. added to smb.conf: logon home = \\%N\profiles\template

2. Populated the directory by logging on and off from a 98 machine.

3. Renamed User.dat to User.man

3. Replaced logon home with: logon home = \\%N\%U\.profile

4. In each home dir I wrote a symbolic link: ln -s /export/samba/profiles/template
.profile

Now it all seemed to work which was cool, until I tried to open any office
application, which gave an error and crashed office before it loaded.

This office crash is the same that occurs when you try to copy a profile to another.

Is there another way, I really need a central mandatory profile system so any help
would be greatly appreciated.
