I have tested both, one server is nat, router and samba
and on the other side, there is a standalone samba server inside the lan
and think about it, w2k is working only w98 is not working, if there is an access problem, why is it working with linux and w2k?

The only combination that not works is win98 to samba (yes smbclient/linux works too).

am connecting a windows 9x/nt/2000 to samba share, not vice versa as you
